Glassman Las Vegas: Quantum’s Vice President of Technology, Mike Albert, attended this show in August as a visitor. The attractions of Las Vegas were certainly helpful with making sure the attendance of Glassman America was high. This year, the show was attended by people from over 30 countries and more than 70 companies exhibited. For Quantum, it was a great opportunity to meet with many domestic colleagues that are sometimes not available to attend international glass expos. Mr. Albert also met with several members of our international sales team. We feel that anytime, you can get the members of your international sales team together in one room sharing thoughts and ideas it is beneficial our company.
AFGM: This year in mid September, Quantum’s President Steve Kozora attended this event that took place in Nusa,Dua, Bali. You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful location to bring the leaders of the industry together. AFGM is an annual tradition that has been taking place since 1977. The five member countries of ASEAN gather together to share their knowledge of the industry, discuss market trends, and give an economic forecast for the year ahead. The theme for this year’s event was “efficiency for survival” emphasizing the need for glass container manufacturers to increase efficiency to stay competitive and achieve growth. The ASEAN countries are considered to be one of the fastest growing markets in the industry and Quantum saw AFGM as a great opportunity to meet with our regional customers and make new contacts. The conference also included social events such as a golf tournament and cultural events.

Glasstech Asia: This exhibition is scheduled to take place November 26th to the 27th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This event is deemed the “Glass Hub of Southeast Asia.” Quantum’s regional partners Sheppee International Asia Pacific will be exhibiting on behalf of Quantum at the show. They will be available to discuss Quantum products and to distribute technical literature. Quantum is very optimistic about our opportunities in this region of the world and we are excited to work with the staff of Sheppee International, Ltd. This conference is expected to attract 6,000 visitors, and 250 exhibitors from 30 countries.
Glassman Brazil: Glassman South America will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil on March 12th and 13th. The conference will feature case studies, market analysis, and product profiles from international glass manufacturers and suppliers. Quantum will be exhibiting at this event so make sure you visit us at Booth 29. We will be available to discuss our product line, distribute literature, and talk about the direction of the industry as a whole. Being one of the BRIC countries Brazil’s economy is rapidly growing and we are looking forward to this opportunity to meet with the leaders in the industry and to further expand our operations into South America. The glass packaging market in Brazil offers great growth potential and is expected to continue the trend over the next few years.
